With a beautiful coastline, rugged landscapes and a rich culture, it's no surprise so many people love to call Wales their home. The country is made up of a collection of unique towns and cities, each offering something different for dwellers who choose to live there.
One of the most popular in Wales is, as you'd expect, the capital Cardiff. A brilliant spot for business, commerce and the media, many young professionals and couples settle here. Currently, over 400,000 people currently call the city home, however due to its status as the capital and its stunning port-side location, it is on the expensive side compared to some of Wales's other locations.
Slightly more affordable is the county of Ceredigion, which contains areas such as Aberystwyth, Aberaeron, New Quay and Cardigan. It's a fantastic choice for those who love the outdoors, and is home to the University of Wales and Aberystwyth University.
With the average home selling for around £175,000, Gwynedd is a great choice for those looking for something more rural. It has the highest Welsh-speaking population in the country, is home to Bangor (its biggest city) and based on the 2011 census, the area is most popular with 30 to 60 year olds - making it a wonderful place to settle down and start a family.
